All you need is a passport to open a bank account. I use Raiffeisen Bank (Austrian). There's a branch in Sunny Beach opposite the MRI office. English speaking staff so you should have no problems opening an account. Comes with Internet banking and also a debit card. Euro Account. You can specify what currency you want when withdrawing cash.

I find it very easy to use. Transfers cost about the same as here for International transfers, i.e. about 20 pounds sterling. You can withdraw large amounts of cash without any questions.

There are also other banks probably just as good.

Large amounts of anything to deposit. The bank will ask you to say where the money is from, e.g. savings, or sale of property, etc. Ask Fortnoks if you can pay cash direct to them??
