We are on an O2 contract rather than pay as you go. Its cheap to do calls or data that way. We have superfast broadband at home so found tethering our lap top to the phone a bit slow so ended up getting the internet switched on. Calls (for us on O2) are cheap as chips anyway. I think data was less than £2 per day. We are on next to the lowest 02 tariff.

If its your apartment why don't you get a modem from reception? I'm not technical but hubby is. He set up TV via some gadget we brought from the UK last year. We watch loads of English channels using modem in apartment. If you want my husband to explain what we have feel free to send me a pm. If I don't respond post again. I'm on my computer most week days (and often at least once a day at weekends).
