Morning Sean,

Hope you are well. Shame they don't update the web site more regularly!!

It will certainly be a welcome 'upgrade' to the present facilities. With 31 'check-in' desks in the new terminal. It's not only the terminal I believe but the whole process of 'turning around' an aircraft in a much quicker time which is the key thing here I think.

This must (hopefully) be a key factor in attracting new airlines to the airport such as, dare I say it a 'budget' airline which up until now have avoided Burgas airport because of the lack of capacity and slow turn around of planes. What with the road upgrade as well.....all is looking good!!!

Great news................I've been quoted £399 per person by Thomas Cook for 16 people flying from Manchester to Bourgas, departing in May, returning in June. A demand for Budget airlines increases each year. Waiting to see if prices come down before I book flights.

Barry

I've also been looking at flights from Manchester to bourgas from May/June and getting silly prices even on the Thomson flight deals page http://flights.thomson.co.uk/thomson/en ... d=dealsnav

I think the new terminal is due to open for this summer.

We also have an apartment in Bansko......so I priced a flight to Sofia from Easyjet (end of May) = £158 :D Hire car = £140, drive to Bansko, stay there a couple of days then drive over to Sunny Beach, stay a week and then drive back to Sofia! Split beteen 2/3 of us and the price per head becomes very respectable 8)

Hi Mark,
The thoughts of dragging 6 children, ages from 13 to 3 (2 off), on a 12hr trip each way does not appeal to me, or anyone else of a sane mind. Then there are the 3 sets of parents, who at the best of times are in Cloud Cuckoo Land. On reflection, I’ll stick with plan ‘A’ and wait until prices come down.
I wonder if owners should look in to organising a private aircraft to take us.

It’s not just the expansion of Bourgas Airport, but the significant improvement of the road system from the airport to Sunny Beach & St Vlas that suggests there is a plan in place for the region.

Text below from/to Easyjet

Hi Barry,
There are no plans at the moment, however we will pass your route suggestion on to our team.
Thanks,

Hi,
Does Easyjet have any plans to fly from Manchester to Bourgas (Bulgaria) Airport following the completion of the new terminal at Bourgas.?

Wishful thinking Barry!

"The low-fare airline, which this weekend announced the departure of chairman Sir Mike Rake, is expected to seek shareholder approval for an order of at least 100 new aircraft. The carrier, which has a 217-strong fleet, could announce an EGM to vote on a proposed contract as early as June
