June 2014 trip

Postby westy1963 » Sun Jun 15, 2014 11:57 am

Just back from a trip to St.Vlas, very lucky with the weather average in the high 20's 8) and getting quite busy now as the season takes hold.

The road from St.Vlas to Fort Noks Grand Resort has finally been resurfaced :D and probably onwards to Elenite as Sean had intimated. Buses running every 40 minutes from Elenite to Sunny beach. Prices have gone up from Marina View to St.Vlas, last year 2 levs, this year 2.5 levs. St.Vlas to Sunny beach 1.2 levs. Marina View to Sunny beach 4 levs.

New pavements and lighting in and around St.Vlas centre. As you walk up from the Casino bus stop along the small windy road with all the shops and just before it opens up into the main square, there use to be a bar on the right-hand side (also sold cooked chickens from memory) this has now been converted into 3 clothes shops!! It seems that every other shop is now selling women's clothes etc, etc. The small kebab stall on the left just a little further up has all been rebuilt.

The complex http://www.hotelcaliforniasofia.com/los ... adise.html next to Marina View has seen more building activity. A new block of apartments is under construction between the main building (although not looking completed and still very much unoccupied) and Fort Noks Marina View.

New steps down to the beach from Marina View.

Finally, the new terminal building at the airport is a vast improvement over the old one. A pleasant and efficient experience arriving and leaving!

Hi Westy,
I have just returned from a month at Privilege. I agree completely with your comments/observations about Bourgas Airport, a smooth and efficient process both arriving and departing. :D
